The estranged husband of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Taylor Armstrong died in an apparent suicide, officials said Tuesday.
Russell Armstrong, 47, was found dead Monday night at a house on Los Angeles’ famous Mulholland Drive, an LAPD spokesman said. Police couldn’t confirm details, but TMZ.com reported that a roommate found Armstrong hanging in a bedroom.
“All of us at Bravo are deeply saddened by this tragic news,” the TV network that airs the show said in a statement. “Our sympathy and thoughts are with the Armstrong family.”
Taylor Armstrong filed for divorce in July. She told People magazine last month that the couple had explosive arguments and accused Russell of shoving her.
Armstrong’s attorney, Ronald Richards, told TMZ Tuesday that Armstrong had huge debt problems and was being sued for $1.5 million.
