The experts agree: Howard Stern on late-night television is a good idea.

The radio shock-jock is reportedly being groomed to take over the 12:35 a.m. slot on NBC if Jimmy Fallon's rumored takeover of Jay Leno's 11:35 p.m. slot happens next year, according to the New York Post.

"Stern is a force to be reckoned with in the young male demographic," said Robert Thompson of Syracuse University.

Ron Simon, curator at the Paley Center for Media, said NBC would be smart to go with an established celebrity.
