The New York City Fire Department says crews have contained a water leak from a Hudson River wall breach near the World Trade Center site.

Fire officials discovered the leak at about 11 p.m. Thursday in a construction pit on the west side of West Street near Vesey Street. A department spokesman said crews left the scene shortly after 1 a.m.

There were no reports of structural damage or utility, transit or traffic problems.

The Department of Environmental Protection, the Office of Emergency Management and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey also were on the scene.
