Hunt for hammer wielding assailant intensifies

Police have released a sketch and video of the suspect who brutally pounded a popular musician with a hammer the morning of July 11 in a Bed-Stuy attack that resulted in the loss of the victim's left eye.

A friend of the victim, who has been identified in numerous reports as Dru Barnes, 34, of Fort Greene, created a GoFundMe page, "Dru's Healing Fund," to help support Barnes, a member of the dance-music duo JOGYO, with his recovery. The page had raised $16,340 as of Thursday.
