A 19-year-old man jumped to his death from a suspension cable tower on the Brooklyn Bridge Tuesday morning, landing in the back of The River Café.
The well-known eatery has been closed since it flooded during superstorm Sandy.
The FDNY and NYPD, including aviation units and the Harbor Patrol, arrived at the tower on the Brooklyn side of the span at 7:25 a.m. and blocked off both vehicle and pedestrian traffic during rush hour.
Emergency Services Unit officers began climbing up the structure to reach the man, but he jumped around 7:55 a.m.
The man, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
