Injured 'Spider-Man' actor rejoins cast, 'can't wait' to fly

The “Spider-Man” stuntman that severely injured himself after plummeting 30 feet during a performance in December has suited up and rejoined the cast of the Broadway musical.

Aerialist Christopher Tierney, who doubles for Spider-Man, attended a full day of dance rehearsal Monday and said he “can’t wait” to fly again.

“I'm ready to put on the harness right now and fly around," Tierney said at a news conference Monday, adding that the failed stunt that left him with broken ribs, a fractured skull and cracked vertebrae “wasn’t a risk in the first place. It was an unfortunate accident that happened.”

Rick Miramontez, a spokesman for the show, said Tierney “looked great” in rehearsal.

Tierney is one of at least five actors to be injured while performing in the $65-million show, which received safety violations from the Department of Labor.

“Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark” is currently rehearsing changes to the script and will begin preview performances next month. It’s scheduled to officially open on June 14.
