Plunge Bar + Lounge at the new Gansevoort Park Avenue is the uptown counterpart to the Meatpacking nightlife spot of the same name.

The rooftop pool bar, located on 29th Street and Park Avenue, features wrap-around outdoor terraces with peek-a-boo glass floor tiles that give jaw-dropping views 20-something stories down. Luckily, a glass-walled, 40-foot indoor-outdoor pool offers visual distraction for those with vertig—o. Unfortunately, the pool is open only to hotel guests from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.

Crowd:
A metropolitan mix of hotel guests, cubicle buddies and suits from nearby offices offer —a welcome change from the sequined-to-death B&T groupies that make drinking at the Meatpacking location so nightmarish.

Vibe: More low-key than the original Plunge, this sleek space offers an atmospheric spot to grab a cocktail (albeit an expensive one) and take in sweeping views of the skyline. Comfy banquettes — including a bed-like cube located strangely close to the waiters’ station — create opportunities for clandestine canoodling.

Drinks: You’ll spend $15 on fancy cocktails.

Also check out:
The Red Room, a mellow den for wining and dining at the Gansevoort Park Avenue, is located just off of the main bar area.

Find it: 420 Park Ave. S., at 29th St., 212-317-2900
