The wait is almost over: iPhone 5 will make its debut in two weeks.

That's according to leading tech blog All Things Digital, which cites sources as saying Apple will announce the new iPhone on Oct. 4, with an official launch a few weeks later.

Details are scarce on what the new version of the wildly popular headset will include, but the rumor mill has been churning for months on possible features. While nothing is for certain, it's generally believed that the new phone will include an 8-megapixel camera, a larger display and a faster processor.

Less certain are whispers of a major case redesign, support for Sprint, and multiple versions of the phone debuting. Published reports have said Apple is producing some 150,000 units of the upcoming phone per day.

The keynote speaker of the event is presumably the company's new CEO, Tim Cook, who took over for Steve Jobs after the iconic chief relinquished his position last month.

Cook, who joined Apple in 1998, has much riding on the event, as it is the first Apple in which he's the star and is likely to characterize his tenure as the company's chief. Cook's only experience introducing a product came earlier this year when he led the announcement that the iPhone 4 would come to Verizon.
