An off-duty police officer is accused of sexually abusing a girl under 13 years old, according to an indictment.

Jacob Sabbagh, 33, was arrested Wednesday at the 72nd Precinct in Brooklyn’s Sunset Park neighborhood on charges he inappropriately touching the victim, according to police and court records. The indictment charges he touched the victim numerous times between June 1, 2005, and June 30, 2008.

A law enforcement official told amNewYork the victim was between 10 and 13 years old when she was touched but reported the abuse when she was 16.

Sabbagh was charged with felony second-degree sexual conduct against a child under 13, and misdemeanor counts of second-degree sexual abuse of a child under 14 and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

He was released without bail, online court records show.

An attorney for Sabbagh did not respond to a call for comment.
