Jay Z's 'Magna Carta Holy Grail' still No. 1, J. Cole goes gold

Jay Z's "Magna Carta Holy Grail" held onto the top spot on the Billboard 200, selling 129,000 copies this past week.

The album, released July 9, debuted at No. 1 last week, moving nearly 530,000 units in its first week of sales.

Sara Bareilles' new album "The Blessed Unrest" debuted at No. 2 selling 68,000 copies, followed by "Kidz Bop 24" at No. 3.

Meanwhile,  J. Cole's "Born Sinner" beat out Kanye West's "Yeezus" for the gold mark, five weeks after their same-day release, raking in the second gold for Roc Nation this month, following labelmate Jay Z's "Magna Carta Holy Grail."

"MCHG," the 43-year-old rapper's 13th No. 1 album, features wife Beyonce, "Legends of the Summer" tourmate Justin Timberlake, singer Frank Ocean and rapper Rick Ross, and went platinum after first becoming available for free to 1 million Samsung phone users on the Fourth of July.

Jay Z's $5 million deal with Samsung inspired the the RIAA’s new rules, allowing for digital sales to count towards certification on its release date, instead of 30 days after the release date.
