"Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek was hospitalized in Los Angeles late Saturday night after suffering a mild heart attack, a spokeswoman for Sony Television said Sunday.

Sony spokeswoman Paula Askanas said Trebek was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Saturday night but is expected to fully recover and be back on his feet for the new season of "Jeopardy!" that begins production next month.

Trebek, 71, has hosted "Jeopardy!" for 28 years. While Trebek was in the hospital on Saturday, "Jeopardy!" won a Daytime Emmy Award for best game show.
