The Jets showed interest in former LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu at the Senior Bowl on Monday, according to multiple reports.
The 20-year-old defensive star was kicked off the team and arrested in 2012. Now, he's taking a shot at the NFL and not taking the opportunity lightly.
"This is my last shot," Mathieu told reporters. "You've got to learn when to do things and when not to do things, when to party and when not to party."
Known as "Honey Badger," Mathieu was booted from the Tigers by head coach Les Miles in August after failing multiple drug tests. He was later arrested in October on charges of drug possession.
Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis, who is returning from ACL surgery, was one of three players that Mathieu, a 2011 Heisman Trophy finalist and Chuck Bednarik Award winner, said gave him advice about the draft process, according to the New York Post.
