Security guards at Kennedy Airport have halted their planned strike that was set to hit during the height of the traveling season, according to published reports.
Workers with Global Elite Group Inc. and Air Serv Corp. approved the strike for Thursday, saying they had issues with their training and had been forced to perform plane searches with low-quality equipment, possibly enabling security problems, according to published reports.
The Port Authority, which runs the airport, asked the workers to try to resolve the issues together and avert a strike, and they agreed to hold it off pending the outcome of the meetings, reports said.
