Could Joe the Plumber become Joe the Candidate?
Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, who was given that blue-collar moniker during the 2008 presidential campaign when he made headlines for a verbal exchange with then-candidate Barack Obama, has filed papers to run as a Republican for Congress in Ohio, according to published reports Monday.
Wurzelbacher's campaign is still in the exploratory phrase, according to a spokesman, and he will have an official decision on whether he’ll run by Oct. 25. He is the only Republican in the race, along with two Democrats.
