John Malkovich helps save man's life in Toronto

Being John Malkovich means helping an injured man until paramedics could arrive.

The 59-year-old actor reportedly helped a man bleeding from his neck Thursday night in Toronto. The injured man, Jim Walpole of Ohio, tripped on the street and slashed his neck on scaffolding, the Toronto Sun reported.

The Academy Award-winning actor appeared on the scene after Walpole's wife, Marilyn, shouted for help.

Malkovich applied pressure to the wound, using his scarf to help reduce the bleeding until an ambulance could be called, the Sun reported.
