Joy Behar is done with

"The View."

The veteran co-host of the 16-year-old ABC daytime show said she's stepping down, telling Deadline.com that it was simply "the right time."

"You reach a point when you say to yourself, 'Do I want to keep doing this?' There are other things on my plate I want to do -- I've been writing a play, I've been neglecting my stand-up," Behar, 70, told the website.

ABC confirmed Behar's departure to Deadline, saying she "has been instrumental in the success" of the show. Behar was the last remaining member of the show, aside from co-creator/executive producer Barbara Walters.
