Justin Bieber hopes Anne Frank would have been a fan - and said as much in the guestbook at the Anne Frank House museum in Amsterdam this weekend.
A post Saturday on the museum's Facebook page said Bieber had visited the previous night and stayed over an hour, when he left the note about Frank.
"Truly inspiring to be able to come here. Anne was a great girl. Hopefully she would have been a belieber," Bieber wrote.
Anne Frank, who died at age 15 in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945, is one of the most well-known Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
A representative for Bieber did not return calls or an email yesterday.
The museum, however, cut Bieber some slack, saying it hopes Bieber's visit will inspire his fans to read about Anne Frank.
"He was very interested in (Anne Frank's) story," museum spokeswoman Maatje Mostart told the Daily News. "It's great that he's been here, and we hope a lot of his fans will want to read about Anne Frank."
