Justin Tuck says he has no current plans to retire from Big Blue

Justin Tuck is ready for a great season in 2012.

The Giants' defensive end is in good spirits after a trying 2011, in which various injuries and other off-field issues led him to contemplate retirement, the 28-year-old told the New York Post.

"Last year was tough for me," Tuck confirmed to amNewYork Wednesday, following a charity event at the TimesCenter Wednesday.

He's feeling better now, he said, thanks to the team's great energy during training camp.

Big Blue's Super Bowl win surely helped, too.

This weekend, the Giants continue their preseason against the Jets, in the second-annual MetLife Bowl, for the coveted Snoopy trophy.

Tuck, who has taken on numerous quarterbacks over the course of his career, said doesn't foresee problems adapting to Jets backup quarterback/superstar Tim Tebow and the Wildcat.

"It's all about the scheme and preparing yourself," he said.

The 29-year-old helped another team achieve its place in the competitive history books yesterday.

Tuck was one of 250 people who helped break the Guinness World Record for most Subway sandwiches made in five minutes.

All of the sandwiches were donated to City Harvest.
