Katy Perry: I was a text-message breakup victim

Katy Perry and Russell Brand's ill-fated marriage ended in the least classy of ways -- via text message.
Perry revealed the stunning way notorious womanizer Brand broke things off in an interview in the July issue of Vogue magazine.
"He's a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him," Perry said. "Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011."
The "Part of Me" singer also said that she was hurt when she heard Brand insulting her at one of his standup shows that she had attended to surprise him, and said that the two barely interacted when they were married.
"You saw that in the movie," she said, referring to the documentary "Katy Perry: Part of Me," in which Brand barely makes an appearance. "That wasn't edited to leave footage out -- there wasn't any footage of him."
Perry also talked about her latest high-profile fling -- with John Mayer, whom she told Vogue she was "still in love with."
"Beautiful mind, tortured soul," she said. "I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds."
