Suspended MSNBC host Keith Olbermann will return to his show Tuesday, according to reports.

Olbermann broke his silence Sunday on Twitter, thanking fans for their support since he was yanked from TV on Friday in a political-donation flap.

“Greetings From Exile!” Olbermann tweeted to his 145,600 followers. “A quick, overwhelmed, stunned THANK YOU for support that feels like a global hug & obviously left me tweetless XO.”

Olbermann’s supporters have come out in droves. As of Sunday night, more than 287,000 people had signed a petition at saveolbermann.com to bring him back.

The “Countdown” host was suspended without pay indefinitely for donating to three Democratic politicians, violating NBC News’ policy against such donations without approval.

Politico.com reported yesterday that Olbermann could have avoided suspension if he made an on-air apology. He reportedly makes about $7 million a year.
