Kelly Bensimon: Holiday Dressing 101

I love the holidays, but it can definitely be a time of sartorial stress. Well, have no fear: Here are some easy-breezy tips that'll take you from the office to a holiday fete in the blink of an eye.
• Add a sequin blazer or skirt to any crisp white shirt, and you have a perfect holiday look. Personally, I love Haute Hippie skirts, and Forever 21 has fab embellished blazers.
• Embrace the Navajo trend with a Ralph Lauren blanket shawl over a simple V-neck dress. Or, if you prefer another cool-weather staple, pair a fitted plaid shirt with a tight, velvet skirt and lots of long sterling-silver necklaces (I love Helen Ficalora's). You'll look like you just waltzed out of Mr. Lauren's ski house.
• Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize! That simple red dress you wore to work with a black cashmere sweater can go full-on glam with wristfuls of costume jewelry. Lord & Taylor and Bloomingdale's have great selections, and I'm also liking Dani Stahl's edgy line for lia sophia.
• From vests to shrunken boleros, fur and faux fur are both warm and sexy. To stand out, try pairing Marc Jacobs' white fox hat with a simple black dress, or Haute Hoodie's rabbit bolero over a basic tee.
