It was a recent rainy day and instead of shopping for back-to-school gear, my kids and I hit the sunglasses store. We tried everything — from chic Tom Fords to Marc Jacobs' upsidedown glasses, which I happen to like. Mind you, I grew up in Lake Geneva, Wis., wearing my Ray-Ban outdoorsman glasses with a sweatband — the hot trend around those parts.
At the store, my kids snapped pictures of me in tons of frames — even the classic Persol's that their dad wears. Right now, I'm partial to aviator styles and pop-of-color frames although — since I find the awkward-girl look charming (probably because I endure a lot of awkward moments!) — I'll probably go with Marc Jacobs' kooky creations for Fall 2011.
