Kyle Riabko's NYC Faves
Kyle Riabko lives and breathes Broadway. The new star of “Hair” (he plays Claude) lives within walking distance of the musical’s 45th Street theater and mostly hangs out in his neighborhood before and after shows. The Hell’s Kitchen resident, who has lived in New York for about four years, told us about his favorite spots in the city.
1. Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 W. 45th St. 212-239-6200): “This is the beautiful theater that currently contains the cast of ‘Hair.’ The owner of the joint told us to ‘wear it out,’ and we love him for that.”
2. AMC Empire 25 (234 W. 42nd St., 212-398-2597): “Comedies are 20 percent funnier here and dramas are 30 percent heavier because the beautiful people of New York put their heart and souls into movies. You will find me here on a nearly daily basis.”
3. Bar Centrale (324 W. 46th St., 212-581-3130): “This is a tiny little bar that is incredibly relaxing. It’s great for an after-show drink because it is quiet. Easy on the voice.”
4. Food Emporium grocery stores (various NYC locations): “My favorite grocery store in the world — when I feel like cooking.”

5. Joe’s Pub (425 Lafayette St., 212-967-7555): “One of the first places I ever played in New York. I still love putting on shows here. So intimate.”
6. Orso (322 W. 46th St., 212-489-7212): “A nice little restaurant for an after-show snack.”
7. Vynl (754 Ninth Ave., 212-974-2003): “An awesome Hell’s Kitchen restaurant
with themed bathrooms. Need I say more?”
8. Westerly Natural Market (913 Eighth Ave., 212-586-5262): “This is where I get my health foods: vitamins, oils and Grether’s Pastilles throat and voice drops.”
