Lady Gaga sues 'Lady Gaga by Design' for using her name

A company that wants to create a jewelry and make-up line is going a little too “Gaga” over its name.

Lady Gaga filed suit in Manhattan Supreme Court Wednesday against Excite Worldwide for their attempts to launch a “Lady Gaga By Design” line, The New York Post reported.

The pop star’s attorneys blasted the company for moving ahead with the name, even though the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office wouldn’t go for it. The suit wants to block the company from trying to use her name and also seeks unspecified damages.

The company did not return a request for comment.
