Dwight Howard isn't a Brooklyn Net, but the Los Angeles Lakers center copped to wanting to play in Kings County.

"I did want to go to Brooklyn," Howard told Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Ruocco on ESPN NewYork 98.7 FM on Thursday. "That's a place where I told the Magic that I really wanted to go."

Orlando and Brooklyn tried to work out a deal during the offseason, with the Nets offering a package of players and first-round picks for the All-Star center.

Talks fell apart, and Howard was ultimately traded to the Lakers as part of a four-team, 12-player, five-draft pick blockbuster in August.
