'Last Splash?' Not yet for reunited Breeders

The culture and music of the ’90s has been experiencing a renaissance for the past few years, and it seems everyone wants on the bandwagon. Friday, one of the seminal alternative bands of the ’90s plays The Bell House in Brooklyn. Yes, The Breeders are back.

Led by Kim Deal, best known then as the bassist in the Pixies, The Breeders made a name for themselves with their riff-heavy pop and their MTV hit “Cannonball.”

The Breeders toured behind their platinum album “Last Splash” for two years in the ’90s, and then disbanded. 2002’s “Title TK” and a few other tour dates notwithstanding, The Breeders have existed purely in memory.

But now, 20 years later, they’re back with LSXX, the “Last Splash” reunion tour and the deluxe reissue of the album.

amNY spoke with Kelley Deal, guitarist and twin sister of Kim, from their home in Ohio.
