Lawyer: NY teacher in gun rant not a threat
NEW YORK — The lawyer for A New York City teacher arrested after colleagues complained that she made comments about bringing a gun to school to settle scores says she is not a threat.
Art teacher Sabrina Milo was arraigned Saturday on charges of making terroristic threats and ordered to stay away from Brooklyn’s Fort Hamilton High School. Prosecutors say she threatened it would be "Columbine all over again," referring to the 1999 high school shooting in Colorado.
Her lawyer Andrew Stoll says she has no weapons, and the charges were unwarranted. He says she needs medication.
Several teens told the Daily News of New York that Mile was eccentric, but well liked, and any comments about a gun were probably jokes.
