As is the case with anything regarding Lindsay Lohan these days, the news that the starlet has high hopes of getting cast in Zack Snyder's upcoming "Superman" reboot struck us as kind of sad.
LiLo reportedly wanted the coveted role of Superman's love-interest, Lois Lane (which went to Amy Adams), but is said to be excited with news that producers are still considering her for another gig in the anticipated film, despite her (seemingly insurmountable) mountain of baggage, according to RadarOnline.com. Our take: Don't hold your breath, Linz.
Apparently, the film's honchos are interested in casting the troubled 24-year-old as a villain alongside the Lex Luthor character, the site reported.
"Lindsay plans to return from New York on Wednesday and meet with producers and read with an actor who is up for the role of [Lex}," a source close to the actress said.
But here's the thing: The cast is set to start shooting in Vancouver in August, and the "Mean Girls" star could have other commitments, such as, uh, jail.
"If Lindsay is found guilty of grand theft, she would inevitably be serving jail time, which almost certainly would coincide with the production schedule," one source close to the film said.
Why a seemingly respectable film would want to court LiLo's level of personal drama anyway is seriously beyond us.
