Lindsay Lohan hit a pedestrian with her car then left, cops say
Lindsay Lohan was arrested early Wednesday for allegedly leaving the scene of an accident after she hit a pedestrian with her car, the NYPD said.
Lohan, 26, is accused of hitting the 34-year-old man with her Porsche SUV outside a Meatpacking District nightspot, causing a knee injury, then driving on to the Dream Downtown hotel, according to police.
There was no indication Lohan had been under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and the charge did not result in her being jailed, police said.
Her publicist, Steve Honig, downplayed the incident.
"We are confident ... the claims being made against Lindsay will be proven untrue," he said.
Police said Lohan was driving between the Maritime Hotel and the Dream Downtown with two unidentified men.
As she neared the hotel entrance, police said she hit the pedestrian and continued on to the Dream. She then went inside while one of her male passengers went back to talk to the man, who complained of knee pain.
About a half-hour later, at 2:25 a.m., Lohan came out of the hotel and returned to her car, where she was arrested, police said. She was given a desk appearance ticket and released. She is expected to appear in court on Oct. 23.
The scrape with the law is the latest of many for Lohan. She was most recently let off the hook in the theft of $100,000 of jewelry from her friend's Los Angeles home.
