Lindsay Lohan 'seriously considering' accepting a plea

Spending 19 days behind bars wouldn’t be sooooo bad.

That’s what Lindsay Lohan is beginning to think as she “seriously” considers accepting a plea deal this week that would land her in jail for less than a month, a source told TMZ.com. The 24-year-old actress allegedly swiped a $2,500 necklace from a store in Venice, Calif., in January.

Maintaining her innocence, Lohan has said for weeks that she would not accept a plea bargain and instead would take her chances at trial. However, “reality is starting to sink in and Lindsay is beginning to understand the risks of going forward with a trial,” according to TMZ.

Los Angeles County Judge Keith Schwartz has offered Lohan three months in the slammer — which would be lowered to just 19 days  because of jail overcrowding — if she accepts a plea. If she decides to go to trial, she could face up to four years in prison for both violating probation and felony theft.

Lohan and her lawyer, Shawn Holley, must make their decision by Wednesday. They are due back in court on Friday. 

Lohan is currently staying in New York with her mother, Dina. The starlet has been spotted out and about in the city — on Friday, we spotted her hopping into a taxi in SoHo.
