Lindsay Lohan slams report that she's a hit-and-run driver

Lindsay Lohan shot down reports that she hit a Los Angeles hookah lounge owner with her car on Tuesday night, saying Wednesday that the allegations are "absurd."

"This is all a complete lie," Lohan tweeted. "Last night, I attempted to wish a friend happy birthday, which I didn't even get to do because I was freaked out by all of the paparazzi. These false accusations are absurd."

Lohan, 25, allegedly "scraped" the knee of a club owner with her reported $80,000 Porsche Tuesday as she was leaving a friend's birthday party. Lindsay drove away while trying to avoid paparazzi, reports said, and she allegedly scraped the man's knee and immediately left.

The unidentified man went to the emergency room and is planning to press charges against Lohan, according to TMZ.com. If he does, the LAPD will open a hit-and-run investigation against Lohan.

The LAPD said it initially found no evidence that anyone had been injured.

In an email, a representative for Lohan repeated her account of the incident, saying, “At no point was there ever any indication that her car hit anyone or anything.”

“We are confident this matter will be cleared up in the next few days," he added.

LiLo is at the tail-end of her court-mandated community service and probation. If the judge in her case finds the alleged hit-and-run puts Lohan in violation of her probation, she could be sentenced to up to 271 days in jail – and Lohan is well aware that this could end up disastrous.

"Lindsay is absolutely freaking out that she could be sent back to jail, which is now a very real possibility," an anonymous source close to Lohan told RadarOnline.com. "Just the accusation and the police report could trigger Judge [Stephanie] Sautner to revoke her probation and send her back to jail."

But Radar also reported that the accuser's credibility may be in jeopardy, as he has reportedly changed his story to police a few times since the incident.

Lohan is due in court for her final hearing on Mach 29.
