Lindsay Lohan to David Letterman: Rehab a 'blessing'

Lindsay Lohan sees her upcoming stint in rehab as a "blessing."

In an interview with David Letterman on "The Late Show" on Tuesday night, the always-in-trouble starlet insisted that she's taking her court-mandated 90-day rehab jaunt seriously and, at one point in the interview, shed tears after Letterman delved into personal territory.

"To be honest, I'm the happiest when I'm working, and the healthiest," Lohan said. "I think this is an opportunity for me to focus on what I love in life. I don't think this is a bad thing. I think it's a blessing."

Lohan, 26, dodged several questions -- regarding the substances she has problems with, whether she's an addict and whether she's a thief -- but shot back with a few funny comebacks and got raw with her emotions, telling Letterman he was "sweet" after the host commended her for appearing on the show.

She also admitted to her past troubles -- spanning from DUIs to drug use to theft -- but said she's serious about moving forward this time around: "I was being immature. I was going through a phase. ... You grow up and you mature and, I've said that a million times ... but what else am I supposed to say when it's a process of life?"

According to TMZ.com, she will undergo treatment at Seafield Center in Westhampton Beach.
