Sections of the M subway line in Brooklyn and Queens will be closed for several months next year as two deteriorating overpasses are renovated, the MTA said Friday.

A metal bridge section between the Middle Village terminal and Myrtle Avenue will be shut down for two months, beginning in the summer to minimize disruptions to nearby Christ the King Regional High School in Middle Village, the agency said.

When that section is finished, the MTA plans to renovate a concrete viaduct between Myrtle and Central avenues, causing a 10-month shutdown of that section.

An MTA spokesman said the agency could not give an estimate of the project’s cost.

The M runs from Middle Village in Queens south to Brooklyn, then into Manhattan, and back into Queens along the same tracks as to E, to the other M terminal at Forest Hills.

During the second phase of the shutdown, M trains will be rerouted along the J and Z tracks from Marcy Avenue to Broadway Junction, the agency said.

There will also be shuttle bus service and other changes, the agency said. About 60,000 customers ride the M on an average weekday between Myrtle Avenue and Middle Village, the MTA said.
