Madonna, Cameron Diaz and more attend Stella McCartney resort presentation

Madonna really knows how to make an entrance.

The Material Mom made a surprise appearance at Stella McCartney's resort collection presentation on Monday night, dressed appropriately for the rainy weather in a black trench coat, jeans and black boots.

Upon Madge's arrival at the Jefferson Market Garden in the West Village -- tents kept guests dry at the outdoor spot -- "Stella and Madonna embraced for a full minute," said a spy.

After they hugged it out, the ladies headed to the bar, ordered two Beluga Vodka martinis and chatted.

McCartney also mingled with a bevy of her famous gal pals, who all came out to support her. Cameron Diaz, Amy Poehler, Naomi Watts and Liv Tyler were all there, as was Aerosmith frontman (and Liv's papa) Steven Tyler, looking every bit the rock star in a paisley poncho and shades.
