Maintenance will shut down overnight No. 4/5/6 trains next week
Overnight subway service along the Lexington Ave. line will be suspended next week between Manhattan and Brooklyn for maintenance work, beginning Monday.
The No. 4/5/6 lines will be shut down between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. from Grand Central-42nd Street to Atlantic Avenue through Thursday morning, officials said. The "Fastrack" maintenance work will end a day earlier than it typically does because of a Yankee game on Thursday night.
Up to 37,500 straphangers will be impacted by the service change, the agency estimates, and will need to spend about 20 extra minutes traveling.
MTA officials say shutting down all service makes the work safer, cheaper and more effective.
The next maintenance shutdown will start on Sept. 28, and will shut down the B/D/F/M lines for four nights.
