Maksim Gelman pleads guilty to 28-hour killing rampage

The Brooklyn man who admitted to killing four people during a 28-hour rampage in February pleaded guilty to attempted murder Tuesday and is expected to get 25 years in prison for the plea.

Maksim Gelman, 24, told a Manhattan Supreme Court judge that he stabbed Joseph Lozito on a midtown subway on Feb. 12, 2011, after a streak of bloodshed through Brooklyn into Manhattan that left four dead. Lozito survived.

In November, Gelman admitted that he killed his stepfather, Alexander Kuznetsov, 54; Yelena Bulchenko, 20; Anna Bulchenko, 56; and Steve Tannenbaum, 60, during the multi-borough tear.

Gelman is due in court Wednesday to be sentenced for the four killings, and he faces up to life in prison for those attacks. He will be sentenced Feb. 12 for the attempted murder, when he’s expected to get the additional 25 years.
