A Flushing woman was fighting for her life Wednesday morning after her husband allegedly took a cleaver to her head during a domestic dispute, police said.
The unidentified 52-year-old woman was listed in critical condition at New York Hospital of Queens following the incident, with several wounds to her head and body, according to the authorities.
Investigators say her husband, Kang Wang, 53, went to their Parsons Boulevard apartment around 5:50 a.m. and began stabbing her with the cleaver before their 22-year-old son intervened.
The son was unharmed but his mother staggered out the home and collapsed a few feet away, leaving a trail of blood, according to published reports.
The husband allegedly had mental health problems and was released from Elmhurst Hospital's psych ward Tuesday, published reports said. He was arrested and charged by police with assault, attempted criminally negligent homicide and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the NYPD.
