A 35-year-old man is in critical condition after being struck by a subway in Sunset Park on Thursday morning.
The unidentified man was hit at the 53rd Street station by a Manhattan-bound R train at around 10:45 a.m., officials said, and EMS workers rushed him to Lutheran Hospital with a "serious" leg injury. Officials were unsure how the man wound up on the tracks.
A spokeswoman for the hospital said the man was in "critical but stable" condition Thursday afternoon and that his injuries weren't expected to be life-threatening.
Train service resumed after 80 minutes, according to the MTA.
