The fashion publicist who stabbed his girlfriend to death last year pleaded guilty Monday, officials said.
Raul Barrera, 35, pleaded guilty to the murder of Sarah Coit, 23, in April 2011, when he used half a dozen knives to stab and slice Coit to death, nearly decapitating her.
Barrera faces up to 25 years to life in prison, the DA's office said. He will be back in court on Friday for a pre-sentencing hearing.
His plea didn't mention a specific sentence, but Barrera's attorney will reportedly ask for 15 years. The attorney didn't return requests for comment.
