Man pleads not guilty to stab indictment

A man charged with killing four people and wounding several others in a New York City rampage has been indicted in the slashing of a Manhattan subway rider.
The Manhattan district attorney announced Tuesday that Maksim Gelman has been indicted on charges of attempted murder, assault and weapon possession.
His lawyer entered his not guilty plea for him. Authorities say the subway attack was the final burst of violence in a 28-hour rampage last month that began in Brooklyn.
A judge, acting on a defense request, previously barred the media from interviewing the suspect. Before the ruling, Gelman had already given several interviews, and said sometimes his mind isn’t right.
