The 26-year-old man from Elizabeth, N.J., fell asleep in a secluded area underneath a platform at the 65th Street station in Woodside around 4:40 a.m., reports said.

But his leg was apparently dangling too close to the tracks, and when a train entered the station it ripped off his leg, reports said. He was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, and he is expected to survive.
