Man stabbed to death in Chelsea near Juliet Supperclub

A Manhattan man was stabbed to death near Chelsea hotspot the Juliet Supperclub early Monday.

Christopher Adames, 23, of Morningside Heights, was found stabbed multiple times in the torso on W. 21st Street, between 11th and 12th avenues, shortly after 5 a.m., police said. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital and pronounced dead.

A spokeswoman for Juliet, a popular celebrity hangout, denied the fight began inside the club, but nbcnewyork.com reported that Adames was seen inside the club talking to two women, and that a confrontation broke out in front of the club.

The club has turned over all surveillance tapes and entry records to police, its spokeswoman said.

A number of A-listers partied at the club Sunday night, including LeBron James and hip-hop producer Jermaine Dupri, according to the club's publicist.

Relatives said Adames, who lived on 108th Street, had gone to the club with a friend, who was being questioned by police Monday. They said he normally went to clubs closer to Washington Heights.

"He wasn't a fight maker, a trouble maker. He was a quiet guy. He had no enemies," his cousin Jeffrey Vargas, 25, said. "He didn't deserve to die that way."

"He was a hard worker. He was always working to support his family. He has a beautiful little girl. Her mother said she still hasn't told her ... I wouldn't want to be in her position, telling her father is dead," Vargas added.

A police spokesman said there were no suspects as off press time.
