A Manhattan ex-convict was arrested for punching a Long Island commuter in the face Thursday — so hard the victim said her skin retained the imprint of her eyeglasses.

Police said Kareen Bryant, 41, was arrested and charged with third-degree assault after the 12:30 a.m. attack in the Times Square subway station. He was awaiting arraignment Thursday night.

“I don’t even know where he came from, but he was walking straight toward me with his fist already clenched and wound back,” said the victim, Erin Reilly, 27, of Massapequa Park. “A giant hook came at me, just out of nowhere, completely unprovoked. You saw the look in his eyes; he was crazy, mumbling things.”

The blow on the bridge of her nose, smashed her plastic eyeglasses into the side of her nose and caused a half-inch cut, she said Thursday night. Reilly said she was treated at a hospital.

She said she had been working late and was waiting for the subway to get to the Long Island Rail Road at Penn Station when she decided it’d be quicker to catch a cab to Penn.

She was walking briskly toward the stairs to the streets when she suddenly noticed a man a few feet away.

After she was knocked to the ground, she said she shouted to bystanders: “Somebody get that man. Somebody call the police, please.”

A man came to her aid, then chased after her assailant, Reilly said. A patrol car took her to a nearby street corner, where she identified the man as her attacker, she said.

Records show Bryant has served time in prison for criminal possession of stolen property and attempted assault.
