Mayor Michael Bloomberg may be leaving office when the new year starts, but his presence will live on forever at City Hall- at least in art form.

His office revealed and hung his official portrait Monday inside City Hall's blue room along side the paintings of his predecessors. The oil painting, which is 50 inches tall and 36 inches wide, depicts a smiling Bloomberg standing in the bullpen at City Hall with his arms crossed.

Artist Jon R. Friedman, who has done several portraits of dignitaries including Bill Gates, created the portrait using a photo of the mayor shot in June.
