A New York City man will spend 25 years to life in prison for the 1994 murder of a pregnant woman.

Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus R. Vance Jr. says Melvin Kelly was sentenced Wednesday. He pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in October.

Isabelle Joye was raped and strangled on the rooftop of a Harlem apartment building. She was 5 months pregnant.

A child found her body.

Vance says advances in forensic testing helped investigators solve the cold case.
