A photo of Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann staring off with a wide-eyed robotic expression above the headline “The Queen of Rage” has sparked a flurry of controversy.
Terry O'Neill, president of the National Organization for Women, called the cover “sexist ... Surely this has never been done to a man.”
Right-wing blogger Michelle Malkin lambasted Newsweek for "bottom-of-of-the-barrel moonbat photo cliches about conservative female public figures."
Newsweek editor Tina Brown, however, tweeted: “Michele Bachmann’s intensity is galvanizing voters in Iowa right now and Newsweek’s cover captures that.”
The 55-year-old Minnesota Congresswoman Tuesday said she had not seen the cover.
