Mike D'Antoni resigns as head coach of the Knicks: Reports

Mike D'Antoni has resigned as head coach of the Knicks, according to Yahoo Sports on Wednesday.
Details are scarce, and there has been no official word, but Yahoo first reported that a source said the split was a "mutual decision." Several other news organizations confirmed the report.
Assistants Dan D'Antoni and Phil Weber will also leave the team, while assistant coach Mike Woodson will become interim coach, Yahoo said.
D'Antoni has been the Knicks' head coach since the 2008-09 season, when he signed a four-year, $24 million deal. His record with the team is 121-167 (.420). D'Antoni replaced the much-maligned Isiah Thomas, who took over after interim coach after Lenny Wilkens resigned in 2005 after a disappointing start to the season.
The Knicks and D'Antoni each did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
