Miley Cyrus wanted to be a single gal months before she actually became one.

Speaking to Canada’s Fashion magazine, the twerking songstress spoke about writing her new breakup tune “Drive” back in February, which centers on “needing to leave someone.”

That “someone,” we assume, is 23-year-old ex-fiance Liam Hemsworth. The couple recently split up.

“I wrote it while I was working on Valentine’s Day — emotionally it was such a hard time,” Cyrus, 20, told the magazine.

“It is about needing to leave someone but not really wanting to completely cut yourself off from the relationship. It’s a time when you want to leave but you can’t. It’s also about moving on.”
