GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney reportedly tormented a student for his bleach blonde hair during his senior year at the elite Cranbrook School in Michigan, according to the Washington Post.
Days after seeing the fellow student's hair, Romney gathered an entourage that helped him pin the crying boy to the ground of the quad as the future presidential candidate cut the hair with scissors, according to accounts from five former students.
The student, John Lauber, was often teased for his nonconformity and his alleged homosexuality.
Romney apologized after the story came out on Thursday.
"Back in high school, I did some dumb things," Romney told rian Kilmeade on Fox News Radio. "If anybody was hurt by that or offended, obviously I apologize."
He also denied the suggestion that the incident from his adolescence was equivalent to gay bashing.
"I certainly don't believe that I thought the fellow was homosexual," he said.
