Accused cop killer George Villanueva, 42, pleaded not guilty on Thursday as his mother made an impassioned declaration of her son’s innocence by slumping to her knees outside the Brooklyn courtroom.
Brandishing small U.S. and Puerto Rican flags and a Bible, Josefa Villanueva proclaimed in Spanish: “I swear ... my son is innocent.”
George Villaneuva is accused of fatally shoving NYPD Officer Alain Schaberger, 42, to death last month. Schaberger was responding to a domestic violence complaint and was attempting to cuff Villanueva when he was allegedly pushed off a stoop.
